The 29-year-old has admitted City's one-striker policy has left him out in the cold, and with little choice but to up sticks.

Fulham Manager Mark Hughes, who signed Santa Cruz at Blackburn, is said to be keen on bringing the Paraguayan to Craven Cottage.

Fulham tried to sign him on loan in the summer, but the deal fizzled out and Santa Cruz has since played just once for Roberto Mancini's side.

Santa Cruz also said Carlos Tevez is homesick, but believes the Argentine will see out his contract.
