Toffees target Hangeland

Skysports.com understands Everton are considering a move for Fulham defender Brede Hangeland as a replacement for Joleon Lescott. Everton are drawing up a list of targets as they plan for life without Manchester City-bound Lescott. A whole host of names have been linked with Everton, including David Wheater, Sylvain Distin and Ryan Shawcross and now Hangeland is thought to be in Moyes' sights. Hangeland has made a huge impression at Fulham since his arrival from FC Copenhagen in January 2008 and he has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League. The 28-year-old's future has been the subject of speculation all summer with Arsenal credited with an interest in the Norway international, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move. That could pave the way for Everton to make a bid for Hangeland before the close of the transfer window. Fulham would be loath to lose one of their key men but Everton, armed with the funds from the sale of Lescott, could try and tempt them to sell Hangeland with a sizeable offer.
