Swansea up Stockdale stakes with £2.5m bid for goalkeeper
[LNB] In demand: Stockdale in pre-season action for Fulham[LNB]Swansea City have made an improved ?2.5million bid for Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale.[LNB]Manager Brendan Rodgers had a ?2m bid rejected 10 days ago and has since offered ?1.3m for Nottingham Forest's Lee Camp.[LNB]Fulham would prefer Stockdale to go out on loan and gain first-team experience but are reluctant to do so to a rival Premier League club because top-flight rules mean they cannot insert a 24-hour recall clause.[LNB]Rodgers said: 'It's well-known that they want him to get a loan experience, but the difficulty for Fulham is that if he goes to another Premier League club, they won't have an immediate recall.[LNB]'So even though the Premier League is the best level for him to be at, strategically it may not be best for Fulham.
