Stoor seeks fresh start

Fulham defender Fredrik Stoor is hoping to find a new club before the transfer window shuts. Stoor signed a four-year deal with the Cottagers last summer after impressing for Sweden at Euro 2008. But the 25-year-old was restricted to just two substitute appearances in the Premier League, with Aaron Hughes, Brede Hangeland, John Pantsil and Paul Konchesky being permanent fixtures in defence as Roy Hodgson's men clinched European qualification. With Stoor not even on the bench for Fulham's opening-day win at Portsmouth, he is looking to secure a move before the end of the month. "We have a few alternatives," Stoor's agent Per Jonsson told Swedish website Fotbollskanalen.se. "We are looking at different options. Not that many, but a couple." Stoor's options are limited by the fact he has three years left on his contract and his agent expects Fulham to demand a transfer fee. A lack of first-team action has also prevented Stoor demonstrating his talents to potential suitors. And although his agent confirmed there has been interest from Germany and Frenhc, he refused to reveal the identity of the clubs concerned. "First of all, it has to be a club that is looking for a right-back, and they should also be willing to pay for him because he cost [around £2million] when he joined," Jonsson added. "That's the problem you get when you spend a year on the bench. "There were talks about a German club - for a loan - and then there was a French club interested. We are still working on those cases."
