Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has allowed goalkeeper Ricardo Batista to return to his homeland and sign for Sporting Lisbon.
The 21-year-old had spent the last four years at Craven Cottage following his transfer from Vitoria Setubal, but started only one match for the Premier League side - the 5-4 win against Lincoln City in the 2005-06 Carling Cup.
Batista also spent time on loan with MK Dons and Wycombe, featuring in 35 games for the Chairboys in the 2006-07 campaign.
Batista, who has signed a three-year deal with Sporting, told the Portuguese side's official website: "It was a great surprise.
"There were a number of clubs interested but agreement was reached with Sporting and it was good for me to come here."
