Schwarzer prolongs Fulham stay

Veteran Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer's sizzling form between the posts has earned a one-year contract extension. The 36-year-old has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2011. The deal is just reward for the Australian after an outstanding first season with the Cottagers following his free transfer from Middlesbrough last summer. Announcing the deal, the London club said on their official website: "The club is delighted to announce that Mark Schwarzer has signed a one-year extension to his contract with Fulham. "Ever present in goal last season, Schwarzer played a major role in the club's outstanding defensive form during the 08/09 campaign. "His performances over the course of the season were simply world class and were duly rewarded when he collected the Player of the Season Award."
