Reports suggest Fulham and Birmingham City have failed with joint bids for West Brom duo Jason Koumas and Diomansy Kamara.
City had a £3million offer for Kamara turned down on Monday and it has now been revealed that they also tried to lure Koumas to St Andrew's in a £2million deal.
Fulham are reported to have made an undisclosed cash offer plus two players for the Albion duo, which has also been rejected.
Cottagers boss Lawrie Sanchez is keen to revamp a squad that just avoided relegation from the Premiership in the season just ended.
He is believed to be willing to allow Zat Knight, Collins John and Heidar Helguson to leave the club this summer.
He has already released Claus Jensen, Mark Crossley, Mark Pembridge and Tomasz Radzinski and failed with a bid to bring Southampton defender Chris Baird to Craven Cottage last week.
