    Roy issues complacency warning

    23 Apr 2010 - 07:42:59

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has warned of complacency ahead of next week's Europa League semi-final second leg against Hamburg following Thursday's goalless draw in Germany.

The Cottagers frustrated Hamburg for long spells of their last-four encounter at the Nordbank Arena - the venue for next month's final - but afterwards a cautions Hodgson warned his players that the tie is only at half-time.

"Not many people leave stadiums at half-time or go for a cup of tea thinking the game has been won," he said.

"There is a lot of football to be played and Hamburg are a very good team. If they score a goal next week the advantage passes to them.

"The tie is open but I am delighted about that because it is very easy to put yourself out of contention."

Meanwhile, Hodgson is keeping his fingers crossed that the Achilles injury which forced top-scorer Bobby Zamora off in the early stages of the second half in Germany does not prove too serious.

The 19-goal marksman has been troubled by the long-running injury throughout the second half of the season.

"He has an Achilles problem and we're trying to manage it," said Hodgson.

"It is not a fresh injury so we hope a week gives us the chance to put it right because I would say he has no chance of being fit for Sunday (against Everton)."
