Tottenham Hotspur winger Wayne Routledge is looking forward to playing regular first-team football after agreeing to spend the rest of the season on loan at Fulham.
The 21-year-old broke his foot during his first appearance for Tottenham following his £2million move from Crystal Palace last summer, allowing Aaron Lennon the chance to make the right-wing position his own.
After recovering, he joined Portsmouth on loan for the second half of last season, but spent much of his time at Fratton Park on the bench.
Routledge knows he needs to kick-start his promising career and believes Fulham is the right place for him to do that.
"Obviously it was a blow for me to get injured as soon as I joined Spurs and it's been frustrating since regaining fitness to not be able to break back into the team," the England Under-21 international told his new club's official website.
"This is a great opportunity to get back into first-team football, and especially as it's with a club whose footballing style I've always liked.
"So I'm happy and confident that I will enjoy my time here and look forward to training with the lads later this week."
Prior to joining Tottenham, Routledge scored 11 times in 110 league appearances for Palace.
