Rams gets Stoor approval

Fredrik Stoor claims he is glad he chose to drop down a league to join Derby County on a month-long loan. The Fulham defender has found first team opportunities few and far between at Craven Cottage since joining from Rosenborg in 2008. With the prospect of further absence from Roy Hodgson's first XI this term, Stoor opted to link up with Championship club Derby on a short-term basis in order to attain regular football. And the 25-year-old Swedish international has been impressed with what he has seen at Pride Park so far. "The club itself, with the training facilities and the fans, is a level higher than Fulham but then you shouldn't forget that it is in the Championship," Stoor told Fotbollskanalen. "It is a little bit different and Derby's squad is not as big or as broad as Fulham's. But the Championship and Derby is not as big step as you might think. "Many say the intensity is higher in the Championship than the Premier League and that's true. It's a lot of struggle and you don't have as much time with the ball. "But Premier League is Premier League and is of course a better league. At the same time the Championship is considerably higher level than the Allsvenska (Swedish top division)." Stoor has not ruled out the idea of extending his time at Derby, but the right-back insists nothing has been agreed between the two clubs yet. He added: "We haven't talked about it. It could be that they loan me until New Year but in that case the clubs need to agree and I haven't spoken to Fulham. And then I have to agree, but I enjoy it here today."
