Poulsen spurned Fulham advance

Christian Poulsen's agent has revealed that Fulham have failed in an effort to sign his client on loan from Juventus. The Denmark international has been strongly linked with a move to England this summer, with a host of clubs reported to be tracking his availability. Fulham are the first to have made an official approach, but they have seen their advances knocked back. Poulsen, who is keen to leave Juve after slipping down the pecking order in Turin, is only interested in securing a permanent switch and has made it clear that he will not entertain the idea of signing a short-team agreement. "England would be a good option for my client, but obviously it depends on the club and the type of offer," Joern Bonnesen told Tuttomercatoweb. "I can confirm that Fulham have made an offer, but they wanted the player on loan, while we will only agree to a permanent deal, which is why we have not accepted." Bonnesen also responded to reports that Poulsen, who enjoyed a productive spell at Sevilla prior to joining Juve, could be heading back to Spain with European Champions Barcelona. "Barcelona? I have heard about that, but for now I have not had any firm answer," he added.
