Fulham boss Chris Coleman paid tribute to centre-back Ian Pearce, after the injured defender snatched a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw at home to Portsmouth.
Pearce only stayed on the pitch because the Cottagers had already used all three subs and defied a foot injury to net a last-gasp goal courtesy of a deflected shot.
Coleman commented: "Ian went off to hospital straight after the game and we should have the results of the scan on Monday.
"His foot is quite bad really but it is not ankle ligaments, it is on top of the foot. Although he looks a big doubt for next weekend, he will not be out much longer.
"He should have come off really and I was asking him to do that, but he wanted to stay on and I guess I'm glad he ignored me.
"We've got to be careful but he's been playing so well for us. I asked the physio what was the danger and he said Ian was not going to do himself any good staying on."
