Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has allayed fears that Danny Murphy could leave Craven Cottage in the summer by confirming that the former Liverpool star is contracted to the club until the end of next season.
The 31-year-old, who is enjoying his second season with the Cottagers following a brief spell at Tottenham, has done much to help Hodgson's side move into the top half of the Premier League table this term.
Hodgson said of Murphy: "At the start of last season we offered Danny a contract that would automatically lead to a renewal if he played a certain amount of games.
"That's now kicked in and he's here until the end of next season, the summer of 2010.
"He's played week after week. He's gone two-thirds of the season without missing a game, and he might go the last third as well."
