No Euro thoughts for Paintsil

Fulham defender John Paintsil insists the club's players aren't thinking about securing a place in next season's Europa League.

The Cottagers, Manchester City, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are all in contention for a seventh-place finish this term which would guarantee a spot in Europe.

After last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Chelsea, Roy Hodgson's side slipped to ninth in the table, but they are only one point behind West Ham who currently occupy seventh place.

Ghana international Paintsil said: "It's going to be a tough game against Aston Villa this weekend. They're having a great season and we've done the same - but with only three games left we really want to finish in a good position.

"We have to do everything possible and go all out to achieve the maximum points on Saturday.

"I can honestly say that we aren't thinking about the European places. We just want to finish in a good position and make ourselves proud.

"If we also qualify for Europe that would be nice, but for now we just want to take things one game at a time."
