Murphy urges team-mates to step up
Danny Murphy has urged Fulham`s fringe players to stake their claim for a first-team place on their tour of Australia.
The Cottagers face Gold Coast United on Wednesday night and skipper Murphy has told his team-mates to take their chance to impress manager Roy Hodgson.
"A number of our usual regulars haven`t travelled out here, so it`s a chance for some of our squad who aren`t regulars to try and show the manager what they`re capable of, so we should see some good performances." Murphy told the club`s official website.
"No matter who you are, with the squad likely to be improved at some stage, there`s competition for places, so it`s a chance for everybody not just to gain some fitness, but also to catch the manager's eye."
