Fulham's veteran USA striker Brian McBride has won high praise from Cottagers manager Chris Coleman for his dedication and hard work.
The 34-year-old has earned a one-year contract extension to remain at Craven Cottage next season, with Coleman delighted to have landed McBride for a mere £700,000 in January 2004 from Columbus Crew.
He said: "If you look at it pound for pound, you can't buy anyone who attacks the ball like he does and score goals like he does.
"For the amount of money we spent and the service he has given us, it has got to be the best £700,000 that anyone has ever spent.
"He looks after himself when he is not at training and he rarely misses games. You know what you're getting with Brian."
McBride has scored 34 goals in 122 appearances for the Cottagers in all competitions, having previously had spells on loan at Everton and Preston North End.
