Fulham have confirmed that the veteran former Liverpool star Jari Litmanen is currently training with the Cottagers.
Fulham manager Roy Hodgson knows Litmanen from his time in charge of Finland and could offer the 36-year-old a short-term deal at Craven Cottage.
Litmanen was Hodgson's captain during Finland's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign and has represented his country on more than 100 occasions.
He started his career with Reipas in Finland's premier division and helped Ajax win four Dutch titles and a European Cup before joining Barcelona.
He signed for Liverpool seven years ago and played 43 games for the club, helping the Reds win the Worthington Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup before returning to Ajax in the summer of 2002.
After leaving Ajax he went on to play for Hansa Rostock, but has been without a club since having his contract cancelled by Swedish club Malmo last summer.
