Bobby Zamora will undergo a late fitness test before Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg against Hamburg.
The striker is described as a major doubt and manager Roy Hodgson revealed the 29-year-old did not train on Wednesday.
He missed the weekend Premier League defeat at Everton due to an Achilles problem which was aggravated during the first leg in Germany last week, which ended 0-0.
