Kamara returns to training

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has been boosted by the return to training of striker Diomansy Kamara.[LNB] The former West Brom forward has been out of action since the summer after suffering an injury to his knee.[LNB]The Senegalese international scored a number of influential goals towards the end of last season as the Cottagers dramatically avoided the drop on the last day of the campaign.[LNB]With fellow striker Bobby Zamora scoring just two goals all season, one of those coming against Kettering in the FA Cup, and Erik Nevland seemingly only capable of making an impact off the bench, Kamara's return not surprisingly delights Hodgson.[LNB]"Kamara has really been a revelation in the few days of training," he told the club's official website.[LNB]"After training on his own or with the sports science people to recover from his knee injury, all of a sudden he's back in training and it's another player for us.[LNB]Boost"I regard that as a tremendous bonus and it's in that area that I was anxious to find cover. I wanted another front player at the club and I was worried that Kamara wouldn't feature too much.[LNB]"But from what I've seen so far, that was an unnecessary fear because it looks like he's going to be back in with us and we'll have a fourth front player."[LNB]However, the former Inter Milan boss is experienced enough to know that he will need to nurture the 28-year-old back to full fitness if he is to get the best out of him for the run-in.[LNB]"His pace is there and his enthusiasm is there and if I was to start him in a game, he could surely do it," Hodgson added.[LNB]"The risk would be that after 20 minutes at that level he'd be blowing and finding life hard.[LNB]"We've got to build up his match fitness. In training he's fine, he flies around and comes off the pitch with a sweat like everyone else.[LNB]"But it's going to take him a little bit of time to get that match fitness and ideally we'd like to try and get him in a couple of reserve team matches first."
