Johnson To Return To First Team Action

Fulham are hoping striker, Andy Johnson, will return to the first-team in late September. Manager, Mark Hughes, revealed that Johnson is recovering quicker than expected after a serious knee injury and could be involved in the Premier League from as early as next month. Johnson's injury came in January after he made just 13 appearances and he required surgery for the knee problem in February. The front man was wanting to play in the game against Bolton on Saturday but following a setback during pre-season training, Johnson was forced to return to America for further treatment and the plans of any return were scrapped. However, Hughes now believes the former England international could be playing sooner than expected and will be fitter than ever when he finally makes his long-awaited comeback in September. 'It looks very positive and he's looking to get back as soon as he can,' Hughes announced.
