Fulham manager Mark Hughes lamented his side's finishing following their 1-0 defeat to Spurs.
Gareth Bale grabbed the only goal of the game when he reacted brilliantly to flick Rafael van der Vaart's free-kick strike past a wrong-footed Mark Schwarzer three minutes before half-time.
Although Michael Dawson had to clear off his own line, Fulham were, once again, made to pay for a lack of cutting edge in the absence of injured striker Bobby Zamora as the pressure they piled on Spurs came to nothing in the second half.
Hughes said: "In the last six or seven games, I think we've been arguably the best team in all those games and we've only picked up one win.
"Once again, we've come here, we've come to the in-form side, a team that's absolutely flying at the moment, and we've made it really difficult for them, and they're hanging on at the end.
"We had one kicked off the line, a few scrambles. You just need that little modicum of luck that enables games to change and obviously goals always change games."
