Hughes Pleased With Stockdale

Mark Hughes announced he was happy with the stand-in goalkeeper, David Stockdale, after he got a clean sheet against Bolton today. Stockdale's inspired performance helped Fulham play out a goalless draw and it was only his second Premier League appearance. He stepped in for Mark Schwarzer, who picked up a back injury prior to the game and him missing the game had nothing to do with wanting a transfer to Arsenal, like some reports suggest. However, if Schwarzer was to get transferred, Stockdale may get more of a taste for the Premier League action and with his display today, he has proved that he's more than capable to replace the Fulham No. 1, if needed. Stockdale prevented two powerful strikes of the ball from Bolton's Johan Elmander from going into the back of the net and helped Fulham tie.
