Hughes out to burst Blackpool's bubble

Mark Hughes wants his Fulham side to be party poopers when they become the first team to visit Blackpool in the Barclays Premier League. Saturday sees the Seasiders host their first top-flight match for 39 years and it will also mark the opening of Bloomfield Road's new East Stand. The historic occasion is bound to induce a carnival atmosphere before kick-off but Cottagers boss Hughes is determined to spoil his hosts' big day. "There's huge interest in the town and obviously you see the enthusiasm it generates," said Hughes. "Everybody from Blackpool probably earmarked the first home game for a real show of solidarity for the team. I'm sure whatever crowd is in will give them great support. "From our point of view, we've got to make sure that we're able to quieten the crowd down and then play our stuff and maybe disappoint them at the end of the day."
