Hughes handed Senderos boost

Mark Hughes is looking forward finally to be able to call upon Philippe Senderos as the defender closes in on his Fulham debut. Switzerland star Senderos took the latest step towards full match fitness on Wednesday when he played an hour of the Cottagers reserves' defeat against Reading. The 26-year-old tore his Achilles tendon less than a week before the start of the season, ruling him out for six months, while his comeback has also been hampered by a calf strain. "He's been out for a long time and you get setbacks when you've been out for a significant period," said Hughes. "Philippe's got a lot of experience and has played at a high level for some time so he understands you go through periods like this. "He's an outstanding professional and, when his time comes, I'll have no qualms putting him into the team because of his experience and ability."
