Honda future unknown

Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda is yet to make a decision on his future. Both Bolton and Fulham are reported to have been following the progress of the 22-year-old who is out of contract with Dutch Division One side VVV Venlo in the summer. In addition to a string of Japanese clubs, Honda has also caught the eye of PSV Eindhoven, AZ Alkmaar, FC Twente and NAC Breda. Venlo chairman Hai Berden, however, insists the club will not open discussions on the midfielder's future until the end of the season. "We won't talk to any club before April," Berden told Voetbal International. "That is also the wish of Honda. His main priority right now is to make sure we win the league. After that he will decide his future." Berden feels the 22-year-old may snub a move to the Premier League in favour of a switch within Holland. "Personally, he wants to move to a top five side in the Netherlands," he added. "He likes AZ because of the offensive way of football, but he is also charmed by PSV."
