Hodgson welcomes back Bullard

Roy Hodgson expects Jimmy Bullard to receive a good reception on his return to Fulham on Monday night. Bullard is set to feature for new club Hull City nine months after leaving Craven Cottage for a fee of £5million. His departure from Fulham came after talks over a new contract turned sour but Hodgson believes supporters will still remember him fondly. The midfielder spent nearly three years with the Cottagers and produced some inspirational performances to keep them in the Premier League in 2008. Bullard has also spent the last few months on the sidelines with a serious knee injury and has had to work hard to battle back to fitness. "I can't imagine he will get a bad reception," Hodgson said in the Daily Star. "I think our fans will see past that. We live in a world where professional football involves players playing at a club and then someone else comes along who they prefer and they move on. "I think our fans, in particular, won't hold it against him that he left the club. "Whether he will have the same incredible place in their affections that he did whilst he was playing here, I can't answer."
