Hodgson - Murphy staying put

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has moved to reject reports that Danny Murphy could be set to leave the club in the summer. It had been suggested that the former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder was out of contract at the end of the season and would be free to walk away from Craven Cottage. But Hodgson has moved to reassure fans over Murphy's future, with the Fulham skipper's existing deal running to the end of the following campaign. Hodgson told reporters: "At the start of last season we offered Danny a contract that would automatically lead to a renewal if he played a certain amount of games. "That has kicked in and he is here until the end of next season, the summer of 2010. "He has played week after week. He's gone two-thirds of the season without missing a game, and he might go the last third as well."
