Hodgson hits right notes
// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Roy Hodgson felt his Fulham side got the result their performances of late have merited against Hull City.[LNB] The Cottagers have made a steady yet unspectacular start to the season, with Monday's 2-0 success over the Tigers representing only their third win of the campaign.[LNB]Much was expected from Fulham this term, after they secured a Europa League spot through their Premier League standing last year.[LNB]Hodgson believes they have been unfortunate so far not to have taken more from their eight fixtures, but he was left impressed by their latest showing on home soil.[LNB]"Playing in the Europa League has added to the difficulty of the task," he said.[LNB]"We have used a lot more players and we have been blighted with a lot more injuries than we had throughout the whole of last season. But it goes to show that when we said we needed more players and a bigger squad, we were right. [LNB]"It is also good to see that the players we have brought in can slot in so easily. The quality of our performances and the way we try to play doesn't change as a result."[LNB]Bobby Zamora and Diomansy Kamara got the goals for Fulham against Hull and Hodgson was delighted to see his strike duo steal the headlines.[LNB]Chances"It was nice to see Bobby get a goal," he added.[LNB]"His general performance was good as usual, his setting-up play. He made a goal tonight but it was nice to see him put one in the back of the net himself. [LNB]"It was good to see us create so many chances. For our two goals I think we created enough to have got even more. I thought the work rate and the discipline was as it should be. [LNB]"It was thoroughly professional performance throughout and I thought we deserved the victory."[LNB]Hodgson did see Danny Murphy hobble out of the contest on the hour-mark and he admits he is uncertain as to the full extent of the midfielder's injury.[LNB]"As he back-heeled the ball he got a kick and it's jarred it (the knee)," he added.[LNB]"It's a knee injury, which isn't good - but we won't know (any more) until tomorrow, when we have it checked out."[LNB]
