Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has admitted he feels 'very sad' for long-term injury victim Jimmy Bullard.[LNB] Bullard left Craven Cottage for Hull City in the winter transfer window, but his switch was dealt a major setback this week with the news that he will be out for the rest of the season.[LNB]The midfielder has undergone knee surgery on a problem he picked up against West Ham United, in what is his second serious injury after he suffered cruciate ligament damage in 2006.[LNB]Hodgson said on Sky Sports News: "It is sad news, I must say.[LNB]Complaint"He wasn't really complaining so much about his knee during the month of January, it was his groin - because of the injury he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur, and that was affecting him.[LNB]"When he started training again, he then mentioned there was a slight tweak in the knee and he wasn't so comfortable with it.[LNB]"Basically he went to Hull and played, and I can only presume it was something that happened in the West Ham game that has either exacerbated that situation that he felt, or has provoked a totally new injury.[LNB]Sad"It is really, really sad for him. It is sad for him in the sense that he worked so hard to get back to full fitness after being out for more than a year.[LNB]"He had a good year with us really. 2008 was a good year for him on the football field. As I said before, we weren't happy to see him go, but we had to respect his decision. [LNB]"It is very sad that now he is going to face another further long spell on the touchline. I can only wish him well."[LNB]
