Hodgson confident over Zamora fitness

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has backed striker Bobby Zamora to be fit and firing if he chosen to represent England at the World Cup.

The 29-year-old has never played for his country before but his 19 goals this season have put him in contention for selection despite missing much of the last two weeks with an Achilles problem.

And Hodgson is sure he can be fit for the summer, saying: "If Bobby was lucky enough to be involved for England, then by the time that group get together after the FA Cup final, it would not prevent him from taking part in that."
