Hodgson backing for Zamora

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson insists he still has faith in striker Bobby Zamora, but confesses the form of Erik Nevland is making team selection a difficult process.[LNB] Zamora has not scored in the Premier League in five months and has only netted in all competitions on two occasions this season.[LNB]Hodgson, though, maintains he does not need to put his £4.8million summer signing from West Ham under additional pressure because the player is well aware he needs to deliver.[LNB]"You don't need to put pressure on Bobby Zamora because he puts pressure on himself," Hodgson said, ahead of this weekend's trip to Wigan.[LNB]"He's really sad that he hasn't shown what a player he is to his own satisfaction. He sets very high goals, he's analytical and sensitive about his game.[LNB]Answer"He's disappointed that he hasn't shown what he can do.[LNB]"We still believe in him. With the four strikers and Clint Dempsey up our sleeve as an emergency, they'll do the job of keeping us in the Premier League."[LNB]However, Hodgson admits that the form of Nevland, who scored twice to sink Portsmouth last weekend after replacing Zamora from the bench, is giving him a selection headache.[LNB]"I'm certain that the situation is the same for many coaches," added Hodgson. "They have a player that they think is the man to do the job and there is a substitute not just knocking on the door but trying to kick it down.[LNB]"When do you say it's someone else's chance? When do you say I want to give you another couple of chances? There is no simple answer."[LNB]
