Healy content with Cottagers
13 May 2008 - 14:58:29
Northern Ireland's star striker David Healy has pledged to try to make a success of his time with Fulham, having struggled during his first season with the Cottagers.
The 28-year-old scored just six goals for Fulham as they narrowly avoided the drop, but Healy insists that he wants to stay put and prove his worth.
He commented: "Whether we stayed up or went down, I would have been committed to the club.
"They spent money to bring me here and gave me the opportunity to play in the Premier League.
"My family have moved down as well and the kids are in school, so we are settled. It is all a learning curve.
"I want to help bring success to Fulham. Finishing in the top half of the table and having a good cup run has to be our ambition."
Healy joined Fulham for £1.5million from Leeds United last summer, having made his name with Preston North End.
