Harry rules out swoop for trio

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has ruled out a move for defensive trio Brede Hangeland, Richard Dunne and Sylvain Distin as he looks to sign a centre-back. Injuries to Jonathan Woodgate, Michael Dawson and Ledley King have left Redknapp short of options ahead of the new Premier League season. He has been linked with a string of players after admitting the injury situation has prompted him to rethink his priorities in the transfer market. Fulham's Hangeland, Manchester City's Dunne and Portsmouth's Distin have all been mooted as potential targets for Redknapp. However, while hinting at an interest in the trio, Redknapp is not expecting any of the players to arrive at White Hart Lane before the start of the campaign. "Hangeland? There's no chance of getting him," said Redknapp. "Fulham won't sell him. I even tried to sign him for Pompey. "Dunne is a good player and I nearly took him to Portsmouth last year, while Distin's going to sign a new deal at Fratton Park. "Portsmouth need to keep some players if they can."
