Hangeland targets goals boost
05 Nov 2008 - 12:14:58
Fulham defender Brede Hangeland has urged his side to find their goalscoring touch to avoid being dragged into another relegation battle.
The Cottagers have conceded nine goals in ten league games this term, but have netted a mere eight times to remain far too close to the relegation places for comfort.
Hangeland told the club's official website: "We defend quite well as a team even though we haven't won as many games as we would have liked.
"We still haven't conceded a lot of goals, so we need to keep that going and keep creating chances and things will turn eventually.
"It's ridiculous at the moment. If only we could have won a few of those tight games, we could have been much further up the table.
"It's normal for the league to be tight after the first couple of games but I haven't seen it stay this tight after ten or eleven games.
"The table should be settling down by now but it doesn't look like that's going to happen yet.
"That makes it all the more exciting because you know that if you can string a couple of good results together, you can really move up the table."
