Hangeland cools speculation

In-demand Norway international Brede Hangeland has no plans to leave Fulham this summer despite being linked with a host of clubs.

The 28-year-old played a key part in the Cottagers' excellent 2008-09 campaign when they finished seventh with his performances leading to envious looks from the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Despite all three teams expressing their interest in securing his services, Hangeland told Norwegian paper Aftenbladet when asked if he would still be at Craven Cottage next season: "I believe so. It looks that way.

"I'm very happy at Fulham and would like a new contract, but then we must agree on something that both parties can be satisfied with."

Roy Hodgson's side take on Gold Coast United on Wednesday as they continue their preparations for the new season which will include games in the Europa League.
