Brede Hangeland is focusing solely on Fulham's Premier League fortunes for the time being despite being offered a new four-year deal.[LNB] The 27-year-old is delighted to have been offered a contract extension after an impressive 15 months at Craven Cottage.[LNB]But the Norwegian wants the deal to take a back seat for the time being so he can focus on driving Fulham forward in the Premier League and towards a European spot.[LNB]"My agent is talking with them. I just try and play the games and let them sort it out," he told the Daily Mirror.[LNB]"Of course I am pleased to be offered a new deal. Ever since I came here I have always said it is a great club and I wouldn't mind staying for a long time.[LNB]"I think I can fulfil my ambitions at Fulham. For the moment I feel very happy."[LNB]Impressive displaysThe giant centre-back was boss Roy Hodgson's first signing for Fulham last year having worked with him in Norway at Viking Stavanger.[LNB]Hangeland has helped repay that faith from his 61-year-old manager by having some impressive displays at the back and helping steer Fulham towards the top half of the table rather than the bottom.[LNB]He has also attracted the attentions of top European clubs, however he has said he is happy to stay in West London.[LNB]"Since I came here we have moved in the right direction all the time and taken a lot of steps towards becoming a better Premier League side.[LNB]"I just try to play and do a good job. I am very relaxed about it.[LNB]Expectations"There is always speculation in football but the most important thing is to think about what you do on the pitch on a Saturday.[LNB]"I think we have exceeded even my expectations," he admitted.[LNB]Fulham face a tough game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday against local rivals Chelsea.[LNB]The visitors have already frustrated the Blues earlier in the season after snatching a vital point over the Christmas period in a 2-2 draw.[LNB]On Saturday's opponents, Hangeland added: "They have physical players but they play football on the ground and it will be a very different game for us."[LNB]
