Gudjohnsen could be long term at Fulham

Mark Hughes has revealed Eidur Gudjohnsen is on course to secure a permanent contract at Fulham. Gudjohnsen temporarily ended an unproductive spell at Stoke when he joined the Cottagers last month on a loan deal lasting until the end of the season. The 32-year-old Iceland striker has since been limited to two substitute appearances, but Hughes has been impressed with what he has seen so far. "We've got Eidur until the end of the season and we're pleased with him," said the Fulham manager. "There will be chances between now and the end of the season and if he continues the way he has been in training, I'm sure there will be conversations to be had. "I knew I was getting a good player given his pedigree and the quality I've witnessed in the past. It was never a risk. His last club didn't work out for him and I'm delighted he's here. He's added quality to the group."
