Gera defends Cottagers move

Hungary midfielder Zoltan Gera is keen to improve on a disappointing first season with Fulham.

The 30-year-old scored just three times in 38 appearances for the Cottagers, having moved to the capital from West Bromwich Albion a year ago.

Gera admitted: "I expected a better season. There were moments when I asked myself 'did I make a good decision?'.

"When I decided to go to London, many people asked me why Fulham?

"I was sure about it one year ago that Fulham wouldn't have relegation problems - not like West Brom. If I must answer I didn't regret changing team last year.

"I needed more time to adapt at Fulham. I missed the joy from my previous season, but I hope to go on with a better one. I have the will and I am determined.

"We'll have a huge number of games because of the Europa League, so I'll surely have the possibility to show that I can produce better than I did last year."
