Gera feeling Hodgson loss
Fulham playmaker Zoltan Gera admits he 'misses' former manager Roy Hodgson, following his defection to Liverpool earlier this summer.[LNB] Hodgson worked wonders during his time at Craven Cottage, turning the club from relegation fodder into European challengers.[LNB]He helped Fulham to the Europa League final last season and cemented their standing as a resolute and competitive Premier League side.[LNB]Hodgson's absence around the club will be keenly felt, especially as his successor is yet to be announced, and Gera has revealed that the atmosphere around the place is different since he left.[LNB]"Though Roy Hodgson has gone and we still don't have a manager, we have done well in pre-season," the Hungarian playmaker told Pepsifoci.[LNB]"I'll miss him very much because he was an unbelievable coach and took us to the Europa League final."[LNB]Gera accepts that the Hodgson era must now be left in the past and has already turned his attention to the 2010/11 campaign.[LNB]He has been deployed as a striker at times during the Cottagers' pre-season plans and hopes he will be given further opportunities alongside Bobby Zamora once the new season gets underway.[LNB]"I enjoy playing right behind him," said Gera.[LNB]"It's interesting, that I have played as a forward in some games, but when I train I am always on the left or right.[LNB]"Why? I think our coaches want to give our strikers more of a chance. I don't mind that and it makes me more determined to play in my favoured position during the matches."
