Winger Alexander Kacaniklic is fit again, but Bryan Ruiz remains sidelined after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring complaint. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew should have Hatem Ben Arfa available again after his absence through injury. There are slight doubts over Davide Santon, Cheick Tiote and leading striker Demba Ba, but they are all likely to be ready to play a part. MATCH PREVIEW It might sound like stating the obvious, but after going almost five hours without scoring Fulham manager Martin Jol admits that his struggling side are in dire need of a goal to kick-start their season. After starting their campaign brightly - despite a number of high-profile exits - the Cottagers' lack of squad depth has been brought into sharp focus, and they face Newcastle on Monday without a win in seven attempts. LAWRO'S PREDICTION Mark Lawrenson Football Analyst "Newcastle are beset by injuries and it has been a difficult season for them so far. "They will start to pick up points soon, when players return to fitness, but the silver lining for Magpies boss Alan Pardew is that his shortage of players might mean they buy one or two players in January than they were going to." Read Lawro's full prediction and score "I don't think it was a big problem before the Sunderland game [Fulham lost 3-1], so for us failure and success is an unbelievably thin line," said Dutchman Jol. "We had a loss after that against Stoke, then we had a draw at Chelsea and lost against Spurs so everything happened in two weeks. "We have to pick up ourselves and pick up some points. "It is always the same. Three weeks ago we were all very happy at Fulham and two weeks later the situation totally changes." For Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, he hopes the impending return of the mercurial Hatem Ben Arfa can spark Newcastle into life. The 25-year-old France international has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury, and the Magpies have lacked attacking invention. "If there was one defender to beat and I had to choose a player to beat him, it would be Hatem," said Pardew. "That's his real strength." Of this match, Pardew said: "Every Premier League game brings its own difficulties, so it doesn't really matter too much who the opposition is. It's about ourselves and we produced a level of football against Wigan and Stoke that has buoyed us all on the training ground, and you can see that. There's definitely a stronger attitude to attack games." MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Fulham and Newcastle have met 58 times in the league. Fulham have won 25, Newcastle 20 and with 13 draws.
