Fulham nearing agreement with Bobby Zamora over new deal

Assistant boss Mark Bowen insists Fulham are discussing a new deal with £10 million rated Bobby Zamora.

The England striker, 29, is being chased by Liverpool and Birmingham, but Bowen blasted claims that the club are yet to open talks with Zamora over a new contract.

His current deal runs until 2012, and Bowen said: 'What I know is that he is currently in discussions with the club over a possible new deal. It has been ongoing for a few months and obviously way before Mark and I came in.

'But my understanding is that we are hopeful that Bobby will agree a long-term contract with the club.'
