Fulham first for Pompey
Portsmouth open what they will hope to be a more settled campaign than the last with a visit from 2008/09`s surprise package Fulham to Fratton Park.
Pompey struggled amidst off-the-field turmoil last term but will be looking to get off to a good start on August 15.
They follow-up with trips to Birmingham and Arsenal before ending the opening month at home to Manchester City.
Former boss Harry Redknapp takes his Tottenham side to the south coast on October 17 while champions Manchester United arrive on November 28.
December sees back-to-back clashes with Chelsea (home) and Liverpool (away) and 2009 ends with a Boxing Day fixture at West Ham and the visit of Arsenal on December 28.
Old Trafford is the destination on February 6 with return matches against Chelsea and Liverpool to begin March - the season ending with a trip to Everton on May 9.
