Fulham close in on loan deal for Monaco's Eidur Gudjohnsen

The Monaco midfielder, who spen the latter part of last season on loan with Tottenham, is understood to have opted to join Mark Hughes at London-based Fulham just hours after Stoke had come close to agreeing terms on a similar 12 month deal.[LNB]According to the Mirror, Monaco favoured the Fulham move after the club agreed to make a £2 million contribution towards the Icelandic player's salary.
