FK Vetra v Fulham preview

30 July 2009 11:14
Fulham will be without Simon Davies for Thursday's Europa League tie against FK Vetra in Vilnius. The 29-year-old midfielder has suffered a stress fracture of the foot and will not take part in the first leg of their third qualifying round match. The Cottagers have an otherwise full-strength squad for the trip to the Lithuanian capital. Boss Roy Hodgson will welcome the return of Mark Schwarzer and Andy Johnson who both missed out in last week's friendly against Peterborough. Opposition Vetra put up a creditable performance against HJK Helsinki last time out over two legs to qualify for the third round of the competition. The first Lithuanian club to progress in a European knock-out match after losing the first game at home, they bounced back from a 1-0 defeat against their Finnish opponents to win 3-1 in the second leg - securing Thursday evening's tie against Fulham in the process. Fulham possible starting XlSchwarzer, Pantsil, Hangeland, Hughes, Konchesky, Gera, Etuhu, Murphy, Dempsey, Zamora, A Johnson.
