David Stockdale signs new four-year deal with Fulham and leaves for Ipswich on loan

David Stockdale has signed a four-year contract extension at Fulham - and celebrated his new deal by leaving Craven Cottage on a season-long loan to Ipswich.[LNB]Premier League new boys Swansea had a ?2.5million bid for Stockdale rejected and Leeds were also keen to sign the England keeper on loan, but Paul Jewell has won the race to take the keeper to Portman Road.[LNB] On the move: Stockdale has joined Ipswich on-loan to gain first team experience[LNB] International call: Stockdale's performances for England earned him an England call-up[LNB]Fulham signed Stockdale from Darlington in 2008 under Roy Hodgson and he has previously enjoyed loan spells at Leicester and Plymouth. [LNB]The 25-year-old made his mark in the Fulham team at the beginning of last season deputising for the injured Mark Schwarzer, and produced a string of fine displays, including a late penalty save from Nani in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United.[LNB]Stockdale had an extended run in the team while Schwarzer was away with Australia during the Asian Cup in January, and his performances earned him a call-up to Fabio Capello's England squad. [LNB]New Fulham boss Martin Jol said that he was keen for Stockdale to go out on loan and gain first-team experience.[LNB]Earlier this month, Jol said: 'He needs to play every week but I'd prefer the Championship so we have a 24-hour recall clause.'
