Cristian Zaccardo set to sign for Fulham

Wanted: Parma's Cristian Zaccardo[LNB]Fulham are closing in on a deal for Italy's 2006 World Cup winner Cristian Zaccardo.[LNB]The Parma man would cost around ?2m and can play at right-back or in central defence.[LNB]Zaccardo, 29, has 17 caps for his country but hasn't played since scoring an own-goal five years ago.[LNB]Fulham boss Martin Jol hopes to complete a deal in the next few days after identifying the Italian as perfect defensive cover.[LNB]Zaccardo, who has played in Germany for Wolfsburg, is also wanted by Serie A clubs Lazio and Genoa, but wants to play in the Premier League and his personal terms will not be aproblem.[LNB]Jol also confirmed he is weighing up a raid on his old club Ajax for Morocco international Mounir El Hamdaoui.[LNB]The striker, 27, hit 19 goals in 38 games last season to inspire the Amsterdam club to the Dutch title[LNB]El Hamdaoui, who played for Jol at Tottenham, has fallen out of favour with new Ajax coach Frank de Boer.[LNB] Jol said: 'It's not unthinkable for me to sign Mounir. He is incredibly honest and amazingly direct.
