Cottagers target Kilbane

Fulham boss Chris Coleman is waiting for a response from Everton to a £750,000 bid for Kevin Kilbane, according to press reports.

Coleman is desperate to add to his midfield options as contract rebel Steed Malbranque is poised to join Tottenham, and hopes to bring in Kilbane before Thursday's transfer deadline.

However, it is thought Fulham's initial offer does not match Everton's valuation of the Republic of Ireland international.

An increased bid could persuade the Toffees to sell, but Goodison boss David Moyes is concerned that he has no obvious replacement for Kilbane available.

Andy van der Meyde is the only other left winger in Moyes' squad and the Netherlands international has struggled for fitness and form since arriving from Internazionale in a £1.8million deal 12 months ago.
