Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has urged his team to start taking their chances to avoid the threat of being relegated from the Premier League.

A 1-0 weekend defeat by West ham United left the Cottagers four points adrift of the safety mark, having won just once in their last 15 league outings.

Hodgson told the club's official website: "All I can say is that in the games I've seen us play, we're not getting the points.

"I'm not seeing us outplayed, I'm seeing the boys work very hard and create chances.

"If I were to take any positives it would have to be that but, of course, if you ask whether I would swap that for bad performances and wins, of course I would."

Fit-again striker Brian McBride added: "I think you can see we have a lot of belief.

"As soon as we start taking our chances things will change for us. Everybody has a good understanding of what the manager wants."

McBride, 35, has only recently returned to the fold after being sidelined for nearly six months with a serious knee injury sustained in scoring against Middlesbrough last August.
