Fulham's caretaker manager Lawrie Sanchez thought his side's naivety contributed to the 3-1 defeat at
Arsenal on Sunday that left the Cottagers only one point above the relegation zone with two games of the season remaining.
Despite being outplayed for much of the game, a Jens Lehmann error allowed Simon Davies to grab a 78th minute equaliser for the visitors.
However, instead of hanging on for a point, Sanchez thought his side pushed too hard for a winner and conceded two late goals to the Gunners.
"I think we were a bit naive," the former Wycombe Wanderers manager admitted.
"A point would have been fantastic but we just got a rush of blood to the head after the equaliser and went hell for leather looking to seal survival on the day.
"We got punished by a quality Arsenal attack but that's football. It can be very cruel.
"We've got two games, one at home, and we've got a chance to show our fans what we're made of, and that means stringing two halves together of good football, which I know we can do."
