Reports from Norway suggest Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is on the verge of bringing Rosenborg defender Fredrik Stoor to Craven Cottage.
The 24-year-old Sweden international has been in talks with the Cottagers for several weeks and a transfer now appears to be close.
Rosenborg's director of football Erik Hoftun told Adresseavisen: "We are expecting that it will be settled. It's closer than it has ever been.
"Since it has taken a long time, it's best for both the club and the player that the transfer is completed."
Stoor left his homeland in late 2006 after making his name with Hammarby and has spent the last 18 months in Trondheim.
The versatile defender did not feature in any of his country's qualifiers for Euro 2008 but did play in all three group games - against Greece, Spain and Russia - in Austria and Switzerland.
